All Natural: The Best Acne Treatment

Most people have suffered from acne at some point in their life, usually during adolescence. This can be both embarrassing and it can be a hassle. If you are like most people you have undoubtedly tried many over the counter treatments, with little effect.

Although there are many traditional treatment options available, almost all contain harmful chemicals, which cannot be good for your skin. As an alternative to these harsh chemicals, you can use a natural acne treatment; which is the focus of this article.

There are not as many natural treatments available to consumers as there are ‘traditional’ treatments, but there are thousands. My favorite natural treatments are tea tree oil, sulfur, herbs, and aloe Vera. In the rest of this article, you will learn more about each.

Tea tree oil is probably the most well know, and arguably the most effective natural acne treatment available. It was first used by Aboriginals in Australia for the treatment of infection, because it contains antimicrobial agents. Because of this, it can also be used to kill acne causing bacteria.

Herbs have probably been used thousands of years for the treatment of health ailments. A few that work great for acne are yellow dock, sandalwood, and sarsaparilla. I will explain the use of each of these in the next few paragraphs.

Sarsaparilla and sandalwood are both very unique. I use them in this way; first, I chop the herb into a fine solution, then I mix it with water. This creates a fine paste. I use this topically, held in place with a band aid. It seems to work great for drying the acne out.

Aloe Vera really does not need an explanation, but I will go ahead anyway. This is a wonderful plant, which has many uses. I have used it to treat acne many times, and it always works without fail. Just slice a leave down the middle to expose the slimy part, and apply topically.

While all of these treatments are great, there are a few things that you should keep in mind. Most notably the fact that you may be allergic to some or all of these treatments; for this reason, you should consult with your doctor before beginning treatment.
